Crazy Pianos

3015 Grand Ave.
Coconut Grove, FL 33133
The Crazy Pianos staff in CocoWalk takes as many food orders as song requests. Along with being one of the few remaining spots in the Grove to play live music nightly, the sing-along establishment also has a rather extensive menu. Large murals featuring pop culture stars such as Oprah and Mariah, giant faux trees in the center of the space, and singers/pianists battling for everyone's attention and tips might make it tough to concentrate on the cuisine. But head chef George Castaneda recommends the jumbo lump crab cakes ($12). They are pan-seared and served with mango purée, basil oil, and avocado cream. Other popular dishes include mahi-mahi ceviche shooters ($12) and Kobe beef sliders ($16). The shooters are composed of fresh mahi-mahi, key lime juice, serrano peppers, red and yellow diced peppers, yellow corn, and red onions. And the sliders are made with 100 percent Kobe beef and come with lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun. Crazy Pianos serves its entire menu until 3 a.m. and has two full-service bars. A mini red piano, where glasses are hung, is suspended above one of the bars. Diners and drinkers can eat inside or outside on a patio that overlooks the heart of Coconut Grove. Patrons can request songs and are encouraged to sing with their mouths full.
