Were Ready for Some Football
So you couldnt score coveted tickets to the big game. Whether youre in the Colts club, rooting for da Bears, or a local fete fiend, usher in the game at todays Super Saturday Blast on Biscayne at Bicentennial Park. Fans and partygoers -- about 10,000 to 20,000 of them -- will pack the park this Super Bowl eve for the free event, beginning at 4:30 p.m. There will be pep rallies for both teams, as well as performances by R&B artist Frankie Beverly and classic-rock band Styx. Latin recording artist and Grammy winner Willie Chirino is the headliner.
Its a great mix for residents and fans alike to come out and enjoy the day before the game, says party planner Michael Kelly, president of the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee. Tickets are hard to come by; thats why a free event is so important. There will be great music and lots of fun. The night will end with a big bang of fireworks over Biscayne Bay
Sat., Feb. 3, 4:30-9:30 p.m.
