Were Not Scared of Lions, Tigers, and Bears
PT Barnum famously said, Theres a sucker born every minute, and according to PETA members and animal lovers, you can find quite a few of those suckers queuing up to buy tickets to quote-unquote traditional circuses. We prefer our three-ringed adventures to involve gravity-defying acts and amusing performances by extraordinarily flexible people. And Circ Xs weekly cabaret show, The Chat Noir at Dream, never fails to disappoint. Every Monday night, the club transforms into a performance space, complete with dance duos, scantily clad contortionists, and fire-eaters. And this Monday, Circ X is planning a special Valentines Day performance that promises to scandalize and delight.
Its all about the things that go wrong in love. This will mostly be for single people, cause we need something to! laughs Diana Lozano, creator of the unique cabaret troupe. Lozano spilled the beans on some of the surprises. Were doing an S&M version of Oh Mickey with whips and chains and cheerleader uniforms. And one performer will do a version of Whitney Houstons I Will Always Love You, but its dedicated to cocaine, she quips. Seating is at 10 p.m.; showtime is 11.
