Water and Fire

Two shows at the Frost Art Museum combine water and fire to transport the viewer to contrasting sensory experiences. Magdalena Fernández's video installation, 2iPM009, re-creates a kinetic rainstorm that engulfs unsuspecting spectators in a simulated torrential downpour. Perpetuum Jazzile, a Slovenian choir, provides 2iPM009's haunting aural component. To mimic the sound of rain, the choir's artistic director had singers snap their fingers, clap their hands, and jump on floorboards.
Tuesdays-Sundays, 10 a.m. Starts: Oct. 16. Continues through Jan. 8, 2011
