Cyclists are snobby enough. With their commitment to fitness and knowledge that their chosen mode of transport didn't contribute to any wars in the Middle East, bikers are hard-core idealists, risking life and limb for a chance to get there on two man-powered wheels. So it's fitting they also demand quality brew, which makes this Saturday's Beer Snob Bicycle Pub Crawl such a perfect union of pastimes.
Beginning at 4 p.m. at Zeke's Roadhouse, the crawl continues to the Abbey and the DRB (via the Venetian Causeway) and then finishes at Titanic Brewery (via the M-Path). Thankfully, the crawl ends near the University of Miami Metrorail station, so if you're too drunk to steer, climb aboard for a free ride back north. The Miami Bike Scene organizers recommend bringing a bike, a bike lock, and a light to illuminate your swerving way home. Come imbibe in microbrews while dreaming of car-free zones. Safety first!
