We all know that Florida doesn’t experience winter, at least not by the definition of most other states in the union. But Miami offers something better than yucky chestnuts and folks dressed up like Eskimos. The iconic Winter Party Festival is back, babes, and provides much more than circuit parties, topless hunks, and bikini-clad shot girls (although of course it offers those too). The fierce and fabulous will kick off their Winter Party shenanigans Thursday at Spark at the Shelborne South Beach (1801 Collins Ave., Miami Beach). The opening reception is free and begins at 7 p.m. Keep the fun going during the Spark After Party, also free, at Twist (1057 Washington Ave., Miami Beach). Are you a True Blood fan? Attend Friday’s ArtScape, a women’s event featuring art and music, hosted by Jessica Clark, who played Lilith, that evil yet sexy goddess from last season. Tickets cost $25 to $30 and include an open bar at Fifty at the Viceroy Hotel (485 Brickell Ave., Miami). Also on Friday, Urge: Mercury Rising ($65 to $85) will be a party so hot that the City of Miami Beach is letting the Cameo Theater (1445 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) stay open till 7 a.m., which means two hours of extra partying. And of course, an LGBT celebration just isn’t complete without a poolside party. WPF promises 2,000 people poolside at the Shelborne this Saturday for the Under One Sun Pool Party ($50 to $100). The fest will also host a leather event, a couple of shopping tours, a Latina dance club night, and two brunches.
