The guys from The Postelles are taking a decidedly different approach to touring: Instead of cramming into a van that reeks of Taco Bell and washing dishes for gas money, they’re flying into Miami for a one-off gig at the tippy top of the Icon’s 50th floor before taking off to Reykjavík, Iceland, for a festival. Nice work if you can get it.

This Friday, head to the ultra-swank Club 50 at the Viceroy to hear this little Upper West Side Manhattan quartet that has enlisted production help from none other than Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. Despite the huge hype courtesy of Capitol Records, these boys can actually play, sounding sort of like a cleaned-up version of an In the Red Records band. Doors open at 7 p.m. for Club 50’s usual happy hour, but things really get rolling at 9, when Platino, Jose Cuervo’s premium tequila line, begins giving away free cocktails. The show starts at 10.
