The Power of MySpace
MySpace is a beautiful thing. You can check out your ex-girlfriends new boyfriends recent blog about how he hates your guts. Then you can post a bulletin to all of your online friends, calling him a crackhead. After that, you can learn about cool local artists, whose goal is to unite the blossoming art scene in Miami. The creators of Unbreak Miami use the popular online networking tool to spread the gospel about their party the first Saturday of every month at PS 14. And yes, even the club has its own MySpace page --www.myspace.com/psfourteen.
And so does Outereach, one of the bands that will be playing tonight; visit www.myspace.com/outereach, and crank up the volume on the groups song The District Remix. The local rock band lists its influences as follows: Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, and Tupac. Huh? At tonights show, the lineup will also include piano rockers Kingsley and indie jammers the Down Home Southernaires. Artists Ross Ford and Gina Rowland will provide visual stimulation away from the computer screen. Down Home Southernaires drummer, Jorge Rubiera, will screen short films on the patio. Okay, now this is the hard part: Shut down your computer and get your ass out there! The fun starts at 10:00
Sat., Nov. 10, 10 p.m., 2007
