The Business of Bacchus
There’s nothing quite like popping open a vintage Cabernet and filling your glass to the brim (even though you’re not supposed to — damn wine etiquette). Once again, it’s time for the city’s winos to unite as the Miami International Wine Fair celebrates 11 years of bringing wine producers and enthusiasts together. This weekend, thousands of industry professionals will gather to bask in the glory of grapes. More than 5,000 trade professionals and 300 wineries will represent 16 countries as they seek to establish new wholesale channels and make a name for their products. Although the convention is mostly for business purposes, that doesn’t mean we nonindustry folk can’t enjoy a glass or two. On Saturday, the general public is welcome to attend the rather exclusive tasting as well as special, limited-availability seminars. Join a wine club and show your new friends that you mean business.
Sat., Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 2012
