When Christopher Columbus is arrested for abuse of power in the Indies, he begs an audience with Queen Isabella to explain his actions and to plead for absolution. La Reunión, a play written and directed by Trinidad González and played by Trinidad González, Jorge Becker and Tomás González, uses this historic event to build a story that reflects on the human condition in situations of power. This play, the company's third production, takes on such issues as the vindication of indigenous people, the power of the Church and the oligarchy, and universal class struggle. As in previous works, Teatro en el Blanco has created a minimalist set, focusing attention on the acting and the text that speaks of the human condition in universal terms.
