After four commercially uncertain years together, the teen punk catfight known as the Runaways finally ended in 1978, and guitarist Joan Jett was the only member to survive that pop apocalypse with her music career intact. Singer Cherie Currie made a few movies and then disappeared. Drummer Sandy West floated around the L.A. scene for three decades before dying of cancer in 2006. Lita Ford released some stuff in the ’80s that went nowhere. And bass player Jackie Fox became a lawyer. Meanwhile, Jett has dropped 14 studio albums over the past 32 years, launching party rock anthems such as “Bad Reputation,” “Do You Wanna Touch Me,” and Billboard-crusher “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll.” This Saturday at 8 p.m., Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will show up for a one-night stand at the Seminole Casino Coconut Creek, kicking out those classic Jett jams, testing some newer cuts, and riding the wave of the Runaways’ recent revival.
