Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, and Washington Avenue serve as impromptu runways for models and wannabes alike 365 days a year. But starting today until Monday, April 16, these guys and gals will have a ton of official places to strut their stuff, complete with bona fide runways for the models and stageside seating for the wannabes. Miami Fashion Week is here, and if you have a passion for fashion this is your time to shine.
This nonstop parade of couture is the largest Latin American fashion event in the Americas. The world has been watching and following Miami Fashion Week since the beginning. It truly encompasses all that is fashion, beauty, lifestyle, music, art, and culture in one spectacular event, says Miami Fashion Week founder Beth Sobol. This stylish week is chock-full of events, starting today at 5:00 p.m. with a cocktail reception followed by a lingerie and swimwear showcase. Then follows a Miami style showcase featuring the hottest designs by Julian Chang, Nicolas Felizola, Frivole, Ana Maria Guiulfo, Leo Koel, and Susan Elias at the Wynwood Pavilion. Events throughout the week include showings of evening wear, menswear, and ready-to-wear, culminating with the star-studded Miami Moda & Music Awards. And of course, the requisite afterparties and receptions. Ticket prices range from $20 to $100. Visit www.miamifashionweek.com for tickets, show schedules, and more.
