As vain as fashion appears to be, it’s not as self-absorbed as you may think. In fact, there’s a gaggle of people driving this billion-dollar industry who are hard-core softies (but don’t tell anyone) who believe in giving back. One might even call them generous. As proof of this seemingly unlikely characteristic, Klocke Capital Group will host and sponsor Fashion for Humanity’s Fashion Show, a nonprofit extravaganza bringing awareness to three charities: Clothes4Soles, Achilles International, and the American Heart Association.
This Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., Segafredo Brickell (1421 S. Miami Ave., Miami) will host local talent such as artists, body painters, hip-hop dancers, an electric guitarist, and many others.
And what good is any fashion event without long-limb-to-catwalk action? Hence, a runway show featuring local brands and designers such as Vanae Swimwear, Katie Nemeth of Fashion and Art Clothing LLC, and Ivan Hernandez.
The entertainment is just as important as straight-faced models working the runway. Floyd the Rock Artist will be there, pink beard and all, displaying his canvases, while Monty Broom shreds on his electric guitar, providing the sounds for the night.
Hennessy is one of the event’s sponsors, so each guest will receive a cold drink on the house.
Tickets to experience the evening of art, fashion, and benevolence cost only $10 through eventbrite.com or $15 at the door. Call 561-693-2667 or email [email protected].
