Rock This Town
If you’ve ever wondered how Coral Gables got its name, you can satisfy your curiosity this weekend on two wheels. The Coral Rocks! bike tour, courtesy of the Coral Gables Museum (285 Aragon Ave., Coral Gables), will answer all of your burning questions about old-school City Beautiful.
The tour, led by museum director Christine Rupp, will showcase the Gables’ 16 oldest digs, all made from coral rock. Each historic home has its own story — fascinating, throwback tales of South Florida.
The route is short and shaded, so you won’t have to worry about heat exhaustion. And the little ones are welcome too. Why not escape the air conditioning for awhile and learn a little something about local history?
