Raise Your Stein
As fall and Oktoberfest approach, everyone’s inner Homer Simpson begins to stir. Mmm, beeeeer. Mmm, braaaats. Mmm, Buuuutterfingers. Brickell Fest Presents Samuel Adams Octoberfest (700 N. Miami Ave., Miami) offers attendees 16 styles of beer, from lagers and IPAs to even ciders. Last year, Brickell Fest’s boozy celebration sold more than 7,000 tickets. Hordes of sweaty Miamians sloshed ale, and drunk men and women attempted to climb a rock wall. Some even made it to the top, ringing that tiny bell with triumph and clumsy fists. Octoberfest 2013 will feature that glorious tower, plus a Fly Wire zipline and a four-station euro bungee (not splattered with vomit, we hope). In addition to the beer and attractions, patrons can choose from a variety of eating options from vendors such as Yumi Chori, Mr. Cheezious, Bleu Barbequ, and El Vato. Miami staples the Culture and Lalinea will give live stage performances, with DJs Nicholas, Crespo, Bounce, and Zea spinning throughout the day. VIP tickets includes admission to Saturday’s festival, a booklet good for six samples of Samuel Adams beer, as well as a choice of full beer, some Sam Adams Octoberfest merch, entrance to the VIP tent with an extended beer selection, gourmet food options, and private restrooms. General admission gets you a booklet good for four samples of any Sam Adams draft beer.
