Pump Up the Jams
After a long week of writing TPS reports and suffering through discussions about a prolonged recession, youll need to recharge, refresh, and reload. Or forget.
Drive your Toyota Corolla to Coconut Grove and cruise by the cocky peacocks wandering in traffic on Tigertail Avenue while you blast Bob Dylan until you arrive at 3131 Commodore Plaza. There youll hear music pumping outside, youll see street performers competing for your spare change, and youll smell hot dogs, roasted almonds, and hobo cologne.
Beginning at 6 p.m. this Saturday, celebrate local musicians, artists, and businesses at the Coconut Grove Block Party. And this party wont stop till 3 in the morning. All through the night, enjoy specials on drinks and food. Youll fall in love with the Grove all over again. The event is free.
Sat., Nov. 21, 6 p.m., 2009
