Power of Now
For many of us, modern art isnt something necessary or urgent, but rather a luxury few can afford to appreciate. But tucked among the freshest advances in modern and contemporary art lie down-to-earth, approachable ideas. See if you can find them at the Rubell Family Collections newest exhibit showing through August 26 titled How Soon Now. The prominent collectors recent acquisitions include contemporary artists who have been long-lauded on the international stage, such as John Baldessari, Elizabeth Peyton, Matthew Day Jackson, and Karen Kilimnik. They join bold newcomers such as Naomi Fisher (yes, of Miami gallery Bas Fisher Invitational fame), Amanda Ross-Ho, and Analia Saban. The exhibit deals in ideas of personal histories within the context of made-up collective identities.
Wednesdays-Saturdays, 10 a.m. Starts: Dec. 18. Continues through Aug. 26, 2010
