Perfect Peter Parker
From the original comic-book hero created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962, to revised versions of Peter Parker on film and in videogames, all the way to his latest incarnation as Miles Morales, a half-black, half-Hispanic teenager, Spider-Man has had one hell of an evolution. But if you’re not a comic-book geek and you weren’t in a coma in 2002, the version of Spider-Man that’s closest to your heart is the one featuring Toby Maguire, hanging upside down and kissing Kirsten Dunst in the rain.
Apologies to Andrew Garfield, who reinvigorated the character with The Amazing Spider-Man earlier this year, after a series of sequels starring Maguire fell flat. But the 2002 Sam Raimi film Spider-Man reignited movie lovers’ desire to see more Spidey on the big screen in the first place. Hard to beat that.
