Otaku Haiku Ryu
Teenagers with foam swords, Cowboy Bebop Spike haircuts, Wolfwood Punishers, Naruto wristbands, and Sailor Jupiter costumes. If this list makes no sense, we probably wont see you at Floridas largest anime convention, Yasumicon 2009, this Saturday and Sunday at Florida International Universitys Ernest R. Graham Center and Greene Library.
Speaking of anime, if all wars were fought in Super Smash Bros. tournaments, what character would Japan choose? Jigglypuff. Japan would fight World War III with Jigglypuff. Tiger! Tiger uppercut!
Expect hordes of vendors such as the legendary Tates Comics, appearances by the NYC chiptune band Arm Cannon, and a sneak peek of Cartoon Networks new show, Hero: 108. The convention is, as usual, totally free and runs from noon to midnight this Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Sat., July 11, noon; Sun., July 12, noon, 2009
