Let Them Drink Grapes
Tippling vino is not the best thing for diabetics, but when wine bottles are uncorked at the fifteenth annual Feast Among the Grapes, the hangover is a blessing. Live music and dancing serve as a backdrop to what local trend-makers have called the hippest happy hour. More important, proceeds from the soiree will benefit the Diabetes Research Institute. Leading enological magazine Wine Spectator will present the fermented offerings of nearly 30 different vintners as well as tasty treats from some of the finest restaurants in town. Once the purse strings are lubricated, a silent auction will begin. Participating restaurants include 3030 Ocean Restaurant, Carltons Restaurant and Lounge, Crêpe Maker, Joannas Marketplace, Neomis Grill at Trump International Sonesta Beach Resort, North 110, Perricones Marketplace, Schakolad Chocolate Factory, Shulas Steakhouse at the Alexander Hotel, The Forge, Tropical Chinese Restaurant, and others. Glasses will be full from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m. at the Radisson Miami Hotel. Advance tickets range from $85 to $150. VIP seating is available. Call 954-964-4040, or visit www.diabetesresearch.org.
