Klinsmann in Control
Jürgen Klinsmann was always too Hollywood for Europe. The German goal-scoring machine led Germany to the 1990 World Cup. But despite his distinguished career in international soccer, many fans associate him with faking injuries and taking dives to simulate fouls. So it made sense when Klinsmann moved to California you know, a place that can really appreciate his thespian leanings. And after lobbying for years to become head coach of the U.S. mens soccer team, he was finally given the job in July.
But it hasnt exactly been a Hollywood ending. In fact, his U.S. team has yet to win a match in three tries. And with qualifying for the 2014 Olympics set to begin soon (yeah, its a long process), the Golden Bomber better get his players into blitzkrieg mode. Klinsmann and Team USA play Honduras, which is also looking to sharpen its cleats in anticipation of the qualifying rounds, this Saturday at 6 p.m. at Sun Life Stadium.
