You probably recognize young Keke Palmer from her starring role in the critically acclaimed movie Akeelah and the Bee. The young actress held her own with heavyweights Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne, and made audiences of any color identify with the plight of this little girl from Crenshaw who becomes a challenger in the highly competitive Scripps National Spelling Bee. After catching her in her first starring role, you might have thought Keke Palmer was an aspiring young actress with a bright future. And you’d be right — kinda. She’s also an up-and-coming singer who’s quickly becoming a household name with tweens who love everything Disney.

Palmer starred in Disney Channel’s hit movie Jump In, and contributed several songs to the soundtrack, which has put her on the fast track to Hannah Montana status. She’s headlining this year’s Radio Disney Jingle Jam, alongside young and hunky Drew Seeley tonight at 6 at Peacock Park. Besides the musical performances, there’ll be lots of fun events for the kids. And best of all, admission is free.
