Hit the Switch

In all the hubbub of local nightlife, the death of weekly parties comes quickly and often. That’s why Saturday-night hot spot Switch deserves a pat on the back. Tonight is the popular party’s one-year anniversary celebration, and that’s quite a feat, considering clubland years pass just as quickly as dog years. Head out to PS 14 (28 NE Fourteenth St., Miami) to get a sampler platter of Miami’s indie scene with DJs from some of the 305’s longest-running parties. Aside from a DJ set by Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols, you’ll get waxed by Gregg Foreman from Backdoor Bamby, Saul from Vibrator, Al B Rotten and Johnny Strokes from Spiderpussy, Lady Anime from the Morgue, and many more. Live bands include Dino Felipe, Baby Calendar, the Mutiny, Outre Violet, Squares vs. America, and the Pacemakers.
Sat., Jan. 6, 9 p.m.
