Even if youve never met the man who built Churchills Pub, hes pretty easy to spot. His name is Dave Daniels, and hes that dapper 68-year-old gentleman with the great white grandfatherly beard. On a typical night, Mr. Daniels can be found sitting at the far end of the bar, sporting a pink dress shirt and sipping a glass of fine Chardonnay. And for more than 30 years, he has held court at his not-quite-a-pub in Little Haiti.
It didnt all begin here, though. Before immigrating to the States in 1976 and opening Churchills in 1979 Daniels booked big Brit names (like Clapton) for ballrooms and music festivals in Newcastle, England. This Wednesday at 9 p.m., he and the entire Churchills family including longtime acts Raja Khan and Juke will celebrate Dave Danielss 50th anniversary in the music biz.
