Hey, Yogi, Whats Your Sign?
People who are really into astrology set their calendars by the stars -- planning where theyll go and what theyll do according to moon phases, planets in retrograde, and so on. Others look at the 12 symbols printed weekly in that little corner of the newspaper and think of that famous quote by P.T. Barnum: Theres a sucker born every minute. But regardless of your astrological beliefs (or lack thereof), theres something everyone can gain from Astrological Yoga, the workshop being presented as todays H2Om event at The Standard.
Limber and thoughtful instructor Mark Springle uses astrology to teach wannabe yogis how to stop the incessant voices of doubt in their heads. The energy represented by the planets exists everywhere for everybody. Whether you believe in it is beside the point. All of us have egos sun and emotions moon. I will use the energy represented by Mars going retrograde in Cancer the day before, says Springle. To learn more about what that means, e-mail him at firstname.lastname@example.org. This evenings class begins at 8:00 and costs $25. New students should arrive 15 minutes early, and its smart to bring your own mat.
