Flamenco virtuoso Clarita Filgueiras has danced with the Gipsy Kings, Plácido Domingo, Florida Grand Opera, and numerous other troupes and groups — but really, she needs no extra backup. From Madrid to Miami, she is one of the lead performers and masters of the tablao, or flamenco stage. For this week’s Senderos Flamencos (Flamenco Paths), she’ll introduce two Spanish greats — singer Jesule de Utrera, and dancer Natalia Meiriña — for their first Miami performance at the only real place to experience this awesome art form: Casa Panza. That venerable Spanish outpost in Little Havana has undergone a face-lift and is back as the only place to eat, drink, listen, and watch everything Spanish. Filgueiras, director of modern flamenco dance company Flamenco Puro, will manipulate the classic shawl in the long-train bata de cola dress Saturday. If you’ve never experienced the physical and visual intensity of Spain’s most famous dance, there’s no better chance than this one.
