Fido Says Thanks
Your dog may be your best friend, but with long hours at work, lingering Miami Heat madness, and summer beach days, you probably haven’t been spending much quality time with him. So treat your furry BFF to an outing at Sunday’s Picnic With the Pets.
Bring your loyal companion on an afternoon adventure through the lush landscapes of Miami Beach Botanical Garden (2000 Convention Center Dr., Miami Beach). Your four-legged plus-one can take a dip in a wading pool, create his own paw-print masterpiece, and nosh on hot dogs. He could also win big with doggie giveaways.
For the humans, there’ll be coconut water, $1 hot dogs, and $2 soy dogs, cupcakes, a raffle, and live painting à la Anastasia the Great. And if you’re in need of someone new in your life, adorable shelter pets will be up for adoption. C’mon — you know you could use another canine companion in your life. They’ll always stand by your side, unlike your last three girlfriends.
So pack up the pooch, head to South Beach, and make the most of the dog days of summer before they run away.
The picnic runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome. Admission is free, but attendees are asked to RSVP by calling 305-673-7256 or clicking mbgarden.org.
Sun., July 7, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 2013
