Have you ever seen ten piano aficionados killing it at the same time? No? Well, of course you haven’t. That sort of thing doesn’t just happen. It takes a lovely, brilliant mind to orchestrate such a feat of musical prowess, and luckily, Barry University (11300 NW Second Ave., Miami Shores) has one such individual on its roster: internationally renowned composer Michael Torke. Miami Grands will tug at your heart, your soul, and your sense of reality with a “rhythmically powerful movement themed around well-known Miami areas/pastimes.” Those down-home inspirations include the Everglades, South Beach, Star Island, Coconut Grove, and even mojitos and stilettos. The fire hits the keys Sunday with a special VIP opening reception at 5:30 p.m. and a general-admission reception at 6. Tickets cost $20 to $100. Call 305-899-3070 or visit barry.edu.
