Double the Dreadlocks

With all the buzz about little brothers Damian and Stephen, some folks might forget Ziggy Marley started the whole talented-progeny thing in Bob’s clan. He even pops up at the tail end of Stephen’s video for “The Traffic Jam,” wearing a jacket with his name emblazoned on the back, just to remind you who the biggest bro is.

The oldest son of Bob and Rita performs music that is less dancehall-influenced than his siblings – his sound sways closer to lilting world music rhythms, his songs served with a broad smile and a positive message. At today’s Jazz on the Bay IslandFest, Ziggy’s melodies will float over the audience on the cool oceanfront breeze. Rounding out the lineup will be Jamaica’s veteran soca-loving band Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, as well as hot new band Crossovah. Admission is free, so roll on down to Peacock Park. The show takes place from 2 to 11 p.m. Visit If night falls and you’re still hungry for sweet reggae-inspired music, head to the Raleigh Hotel (1775 Collins Ave., Miami Beach) for a poolside Moon over Miami party. There’ll be Lucid Absinthe Supérieure and Vosges Haut Chocolate, and at 12:30 a.m., our favorite eclectic Barbadian singer/songwriter, Fitzroy, will serenade you by starlight. It takes place from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Visit
