Double the Dreadlocks
With all the buzz about little brothers Damian and Stephen, some folks might forget Ziggy Marley started the whole talented-progeny thing in Bobs clan. He even pops up at the tail end of Stephens video for The Traffic Jam, wearing a jacket with his name emblazoned on the back, just to remind you who the biggest bro is.
The oldest son of Bob and Rita performs music that is less dancehall-influenced than his siblings his sound sways closer to lilting world music rhythms, his songs served with a broad smile and a positive message. At todays Jazz on the Bay IslandFest, Ziggys melodies will float over the audience on the cool oceanfront breeze. Rounding out the lineup will be Jamaicas veteran soca-loving band Byron Lee and the Dragonaires, as well as hot new band Crossovah. Admission is free, so roll on down to Peacock Park.
