Culinary bargains are coming to Coral Gables when the City Beautiful celebrates its very own restaurant week this Monday through June 17. Don’t worry — your math isn’t wrong; this restaurant “week” is actually 14 days long. But because you’re so into numbers, you nerd, we have some more facts and figures for you. Thirty-two: The number of restaurants participating in the event. That’s basically every restaurant worth exploring in Coral Gables. And there’s something for everybody, from pizza at Spris to upscale bar grub at the Local. Other restaurants include Ortanique on the Mile (home to Caribbean-inspired fare), Morton’s the Steakhouse (for a pound of flesh), and Talavera Cocina Mexicana (where Mexican food becomes sophisticated). Three: The number of courses you’ll be served at specially priced lunch and dinners at the participating restaurants. Twenty: The minimum percentage you’ll save on these specially priced meals. Each restaurant’s Coral Gables Restaurant Week menu will feature at least a value of 20 percent off a regularly priced meal. In addition to food, restaurant week sponsor Bacardi invites guests over 21 to try an original Bacardi Cuba Libre (that’s rum and Coke for all you gringos) — just to sweeten the deal.
