Dead Dino Dance
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs isn’t just a funny name. The London-based DJ/producer is one of the most exciting acts in modern dance music. Sure, he doesn’t don the whole DIY dinosaur getup like he used to, but he still turns a mean tune, shifting beautifully between classic house beats and indie-ready bass lines and, if we’re lucky, maybe singing over a track or two. His recent collaboration with Dillon Francis on “Without You” has certainly brought his name into a bigger market, but he was already beloved for his fanciful sets and vibrant festival stage productions. Take away the confetti cannons and the huge crowd, and TEED still holds his own, and it’s that kind of gritty, down-to-earth version you can expect Thursday at Treehouse (323 23rd St., Miami Beach). The underground favorite has a reputation for tapping topnotch acts for unique and worthwhile performances, and this evening should be no different. Doors open at 11 p.m., and tickets cost $15 plus fees via residentadvisor.com. You must be 21 years or older to party at Treehouse. Call 305-674-4478 or visit treehousemiami.com.
