Cure Your Art Hangover
Enough with the Warhols, Banksys, and an entire convention center filled with the new and innovative. There is a limit to any art fan’s ability to analyze a sculpture she’s sure looks like a phallus even though the artist insists it’s a representation of his mother. After a week’s worth of Baseling, break the hard-core intellectualism with an art that involves Miami Heat superstars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade going on a two-on-one breakaway. Though oil and acrylic have their place, there is nothing quite as beautiful as witnessing James on the end of an alley-oop that requires him to jump so high that he can lick the rim and leave opposing players cowering in fear.
Monday’s victims are the Atlanta Hawks. Over the years, the Heat has developed a nice little rivalry with these northern neighbors, but lately that rivalry has had the intensity of a teenager ruffling the hair of his powerless 9-year-old brother. The Heat already smacked the Hawks down once this season, and this time the guys bring the matchup home to the American Airlines Arena (601 Biscayne Blvd., Miami).
