Come into the Garden
If you find yourself shadowboxing with dull-date depression, or feel like hell week at the office has sapped the bliss from your bones, its high time you discovered a funky slice of Oz at the end of that broken brick road. Tonight at 8:00, chuck those soul-withering blues onto the compost heap and head to the Upper Eastside Garden, where a cross-pollination of alfresco art, ass-shaking music, and tantalizing tee time on the gardens hybrid back nine might inspire enlightenment and a kick in the teeth for the puritan work ethic.
Hosted by Romulo Del Castillo, with guest DJs Carlos Llanos and Benton (from The Loop, on college radio station WVUM-FM), the Peaches and Prunes blowout features six head-spinning videos by Natalia Benedetti and the return of golden boy Daniel Arshams art piece to the boho Edens minigolf course. The events organizers promise youll hear the crack of seedpods, feel the suck of the earth, and have a stream of ambrosia to quaff those troubles away while hipster happiness reigns. Tickets cost $10. Call 305-984-3231, or visit www.uppereastsidegarden.com.
