Can Giraffes Use Napkins?
If your usual crew eats like they were raised in a barn, dinner with zoo animals might be a step up. At Friday’s Feast With the Beasts, you can mix and mingle with the residents of Zoo Miami. They might just teach you a thing or two about table manners. The annual event (now in its 21st year) is all about eating, drinking, and dancing on behalf of our beasty besties. Nosh on NY strip steak with béarnaise aioli from Shula’s 347 Grill, spanakopita from Taverna Opa, burgers from Shake Shack, and tilapia ceviche from Devon Seafood & Steak, plus nibbles from 30 other local eateries. There’ll be an open bar, so you can raise many a toast to the resident giraffes (the event’s theme animal), and an end-of-the-evening dance party, so you can impress the crowds with your thematic moves — your foxtrot, your funky chicken, your worm. Best of all, your money will help support the Zoological Society of Florida’s wildlife education and conservation programs. The event runs from 8 p.m. to midnight (the VIP cocktail reception kicks off at 7) at Zoo Miami (12400 SW 152nd St., Miami). Tickets cost $175 for regular admission and $225 for VIP access.
