Brother, Can You Spare a Strike?
Tonight you might notice hordes of well-dressed men heading to Bird Bowl. The attraction? Its the beginning of the Gay Bowling Leagues season! The evening kicks off with an organizational meeting at 7:00, when teams will be divvied up into groups of three bowlers each. Practice bowling starts at 8:00; the real thing begins at 8:15.
Lone bowlers are welcome to come and fill spots on incomplete teams. In fact even if you have friends who want to bowl, you should join separate teams so you can meet new people. Why hide in your little clique all the time? The season is 18 weeks long, so lets hope youll like who you get stuck with. At least youll have something in common with your new friends, other than being gay -- you all like to bowl. Thats perfect conversation fodder. Drink a few cheap beers, share some nachos, and if youre lucky, youll get your hands on more balls than just the one you bowl with.
