Bridget Jones is Back
It’s been 14 years since author Helen Fielding created the lovable, romantic Bridget Jones character, and it’s been almost ten years since we last saw Renée Zellweger onscreen portraying her. But fans of Fielding’s quirky romance have a new reason to rejoice: Bridget Jones is back in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.
A lot has changed since Bridget’s struggle with choosing between Colin Firth and Hugh Grant — we mean Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver. In the new book, Jones tackles modern issues such as technology, online dating, and even Twitter.
Have any burning questions about Bridget’s relationship with her modern-day Mr. Darcy? Where is now? Is she doing some online dating? Is he maybe single? What is his home address? Ask away this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus Auditorium (300 NE Second Ave., Miami). Fielding will engage in a conversation with fellow writer Boo Zamek, but she will also have time for audience questions and a book signing. This event requires a voucher, which can be purchased in the form of Fielding’s book Mad About the Boy at any Books & Books location or online.
Sat., Nov. 2, 7 p.m., 2013
