Twinks, queens, DL brothers — there are so many types of gays that if someone wrote Gay Stereotypes for Dummies, he’d make a fortune. One of the lesser-known types is the urban brother, clad head to toe in gangster couture and eyeballing your husband — not for his shiny Tag Heuer, but for his massive chest and Bruce Wayne looks. Most circuit parties are geared toward the more common species of gays, but every once in a while, you get a hard-core, balls to the wall, pimpin’, hip-hop booty blast where urban brothers throw it down. This year’s Miami Beach Bruthaz 2013 provides four days of gorgeous gangstas getting it on, but it also throws in some cultural and motivational events to prove that a do-rag does not necessarily a thug make. This Thursday, you can check in at the MBB Welcome Desk at the Riviera South Beach Hotel (2000 Liberty Ave., Miami Beach), enjoy a free happy hour, and then head to Buck 15 (437 Lincoln Ln., Miami Beach) for the White Party. Before making your way to Climax, Friday night’s bruthaz bash at the Skyline Lounge (645 Washington Ave., Miami Beach), get pumped at Bruthaz Speak Up XXX, which promises “real talk” and “tough topics.” Get wet at the aptly named Get Wet rooftop pool party Saturday at the Congress Hotel (1052 Ocean Dr., Miami Beach) from noon until 8 p.m., and once you’re all nice and dry, head to Score (727 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach) for the Brazilian Fire dance party, featuring house, progressive, and tribal beats. Sunday, take a brutha to the wind-down event, a South Florida premiere of an episode of The DL Chronicles at Miami Beach Cinematheque (1130 Washington Ave., Miami Beach).
