Best of Brazil
Rivulets of sweat slide down the back of her caramel neck and trace the gleaming curve of her arched back. Her rocking hips send droplets flying skyward as her body is possessed and convulsing with the wildly percussive force of the rhythm in the streets. She’s wearing a swath of soaking fabric held together by a string that runs between her luscious, shaking ass cheeks and wraps around her hips in tightly fastened knots. Her breasts are hardly contained by a purple sequined bikini top shooting sparks of light into the Rio de Janeiro morning. And in an amazing feat of balance, her head supports a colored arc of feathers spread 180 degrees above her long dark hair. Millions of feet stomp in chaotic unison around her, and caipirinhas flood the street.
This is Brazilian Carnaval, the wildest party in the world, and it’s coming to Villa 221 (221 NE 17th St., Miami) this Saturday. Authentic Brazilian party rockers Batuke Samba Funk, dance troupe Mano Santa, DJs Fabio Soul, Umber Bandi-Ville, and 12 visual artists will perform live with capoeiristas, samba heads, drum jammers, and Leblón Cachaça to keep the action live until the morning sun arrives.
Sat., Feb. 9, 7 p.m., 2013
