Best Elevator Music Ever
Caution: A Black Violin concert just might throw you for a loop. When you see two violinists take the stage, your brain will say, Okay, classical music. Bring it on. But when the duo puts bows to strings and you hear the opening chords from the Notorious B.I.G.s Juicy, your right arm will instinctively go in the air and head bobbing will surely commence. Black Violin, better known as classy Fort Lauderdale natives Kev Marcus and Wil-B, have been surprising crowds across the world with their unique spin on classical music. And in true hip-hop style, they got their start force-feeding the public their unique sound. We would go to clubs, crash the party, and just pull out our violins. While everybody was dancing, wed just clear out the middle and do our thing, says Wil-B. Today at 4:30 p.m., the duo will hold a private performance for students of the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center, and on Saturday, March 10, at 8:00 p.m. they will rock Joseph Caleb Auditorium.
Sat., March 10, 8 p.m.
