Back On Track
Our beloved Three Kings are still basking in the glowing warmth of the Larry O’Brien Trophy, so it’s easy to forgive them for the flat-footed performance against the rival New York Knicks. It really wouldn’t have been fair to dropkick the once-favored team of a city that was just ravaged by a superstorm. But when the visiting Denver Nuggets pushed the Miami Heat to the brink at home, eventually needing new face Ray Allen to bail the team out with a corner three, some fans’ faith was shaken. Nonetheless, there is a whole lot of basketball to be played, and this young season is already being called the best in years. Coming to town Wednesday are the typically hapless Milwaukee Bucks. After trading Golden State Warrior Monta Ellis for 2005 number one draft pick Andrew Bogut last season, the young Bucks promise to bring a highly entertaining team led by a backcourt tandem made of lighting-quick guards Brandon Jennings and Ellis. Are they enough to take on the Heat? Definitely not, but it’ll be a great game to watch.
