The champagne has worn off and so has the prospect of changing your ways in 2010. Were happy to steer you further away from your short-lived affair with self-improvement. Damn the diet, because MiMos Red Light restaurant will provide tapas and drinks this Friday at 9 p.m. And to hell with the health club you can get your exercise fix by taking a musical and visual trek back in time to the 30s and 40s at the SoBe Institute of the Arts Grand Opening Cabaret. Because all of your resolutions had to do with food and muffin tops, this multimedia arts cabaret can be the vittles to your artistic soul. And here, yes, you may grub without guilt.
In celebration of the long-awaited reopening of the SoBe Arts Little Stage Theater, love is the guest of honor. Through original torch songs and theatrical vignettes of the 30s and 40s, and the conspicuously bleeding heart of at least one dejected broad who lost her love two days before Christmas, youll be wrapped up in a whirlwind of romance and renewal. The intimacy of this legendary venue, along with Montserrat Francos live-action resurrection of Betty Boop in Tunes N Toons, will only add to the affair. The show runs Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until January 17. Tickets start at $10.
Fridays-Sundays, 9 p.m. Starts: Jan. 1. Continues through Jan. 17, 2010
