A Cycling Extravaganza
It’s not often that the world of biking and classical music overlap. But Miami’s cycling and symphonic enthusiasts will converge Friday at New World Symphony’s Cycling Night. The event celebrates the city’s cycling culture with music and film and takes place at the New World Center (500 17th St., Miami Beach). The culture of cycling will be on full display during the event. First, the audience will be able to take in a powerful, 30-minute concert including classical greats such as Bach’s “Suite No. 3.” Next, cyclists can connect with old friends and make new ones while mingling in the atrium of the New World Center. Sponsored beverages will also be on hand to help keep the party atmosphere going. After that, the New World Center’s Miami Beach SoundScape will host the Miami premiere of critically acclaimed film Bicycle Dreams, directed by Stephen Auerbach and projected onto the center’s 7,000-square-foot wall. If you’ve been burned by Critical Mass traffic in the past, this will be a night that’ll reinvigorate your love for Miami’s cycling culture.
