This little seen but deftly mounted exhibit, organized at the now-moribund Tachmes space by indie curator Jorge Hulian, featured 37 haunting photographs by Venezuelan artist Luis Brito. The shutterbug transported viewers into the bizarre world of his compatriot Armando Reverón, who died in 1954 following a steady decline into dementia. One of Latin American art history's most enigmatic figures, Reverón was known for creating a harem of life-size, anatomically correct muses out of burlap sacks and sundry detritus scavenged from garbage heaps. Clad in a loincloth, he lived in a ramshackle compound he christened El Castillete, created from palm fronds and trash, where he communed with nature and led a near-aboriginal existence. Hailed as one of the first multimedia artists of his era, the mad genius used his dolls as models for his paintings and was rumored to have consummated his relations with the moldy muses, later claiming to "fathering children" with them. Brito documented the fetid, moth-eaten carcasses of Reverón's harem for posterity, and the results on view at the Tachmes space, painted in gloomy twilight tones for the occasion, were hair-raising.

Iceing on the cake. The only thing moribund about the Tachmes Gallery were the Miami Collectors whodidn't support it and the Miami Artists that lost faith in it.

I have no doubt! No, Luis Brito contemporary artist who has been able to express the mystery and life of dolls Reverón. One can not help wondering what if the relationship of Louis, through his artist's eye, was the same as it was Reverón with them? I am amazed and admire. Luis makes these dolls communicate them breathes life .. Luis Those who know know that great virtue in it, is the giver of life. Thanks Gusano.

Mi congratulations to Jorge Hulian of ArtDealerMiami and Leonard Tachmes, formerly from Leonard Tachmes Gallery, both good friends of mine for such nice award!! Certainly very well deserved!!

It is just great to be part of the the new generation of people with full dedication to make Miami a real Art destination, and I am sure we will make it happen.

Currently Jorge Hulian is hosting an exhibit of my photographic work, called " Body Alchemy" in his ArtDealerMiami Gallery, on Alton Road and 15th Terrace, and so far everything is running smoothly and very profitable! Let's hope we make it to the Best of 2011 list!!

My best wishes for a bright future Jorge and Leonard!! The good things are just beginning!!
