Ah, the mall manicurist. These one-stop-beauty outlets are meant to provide respite for women whose feet ache from shopping all day long. But more often, getting your nails done at the commercial mega-mecca can be drama. It's like these stores share the same basic formula. All-white décor, stations crammed as close together as possible. Hand-shape chairs with red fingernails optional. The standard mall manicurist is usually jam-packed on a Saturday, every massage chair and foot spa is occupied, the workers are disgruntled, and the waiting area is full. Ladies who have been shopping all day deserve better than that. We prefer to avoid these establishments and head straight to Pinkies. The cute corner store is refreshingly feminine, professional, and classy. Instead of hand-shape chairs, there is plush, soft seating. The place is open seven days a week, walk-ins usually don't have to wait long, and your pedicure ($23 for ladies, $25 for men) will make you feel ready to shop anew.

Gina, not only are you wrong about your opinions towards immigrants, but be careful with Laura. She is the rudest one there. She did my nails for a few months and one day, I guess she decided she didn't want me as a client anymore, (by the way I am an excellent tipper) and as I was taking my chair for a pedi she threw the blue crystals (disinfectant) all over my legs from a distance, only because (I think) I asked her to do my manicure before the pedicure so my nails had more time to dry. Needless to say, I have never gone back. I was also noticing the place isn't too clean anymore. Check it out.

Okay, I think all three of you are just plain stupid. Blair is right about Gina being retarded and racist. She spent the whole last section going off about America and ancestors giving people chances..blah blah blah..and Christina just has too much time on her hands and has her own grammatical errors i.e. "coming of with a sense of entitlement"..shouldnt it be "coming off"...retard. Don't laugh too hard Blair because you can't spell either, but at least you aren't a retarded racist like the other two! Geesh, people, get a life!

Well Blair, I don't know either you nor Gina, but I think you may just be the pot calling the kettle black. What Gina contributed to this section was very much a comment on the nail salon and not a "racist rant" against Spanish speakers. If you actually read some of the other reviews above, you would see that almost the entire forum made it their point to comment beyond the actual quality of the pedicure/manicure they received. Instead, most went into a diatribe about the language the technicians speak and how "rude" the employees were perceived. Did anyone ever stop to consider that there may be in fact a language barrier? Many times Americans view foreigners to be rude and abrasive, but many times it's in the context and not the tone. English is my first language and I have made it a point to learn several others. I hardly think learning Spanish should be so I can communicate better in my American-based city. I think your suggestion that someone enroll in a language school instead of addressing the problem is backwards thinking. On many occasions, I have encountered Hispanics coming of with a sense of entitlement - especially towards others who do not speak their language. When I am receiving a pedicure or having a facial the least of my concerns is how great of best friends I'm going to be with the technician. All I care about is I receive the best work possible. For someone who feels compelled to point the finger at someone for being "racist" and as a result not only insults, but childishly at that. Maybe you should learn how to speak to someone instead of rushing in to call them an idiot. I happen to be a very staunch critic of grammar and spelling and found nothing wrong with her structure, given this is not a formal forum. I highly doubt you speak with proper diction in your daily life - this is Miami after all! I also LOVE how you judge Gina's poor grammar and sentence structure when you so wonderfully point out your own misspellings (i.e. "you" instead of "your") and incorrect capitalization! But I digress...I commend Gina's effort to point out that this is a melting pot and the fact that one person would like to speak to another in their native language is completely acceptable.

Gina,

The comment section is for Pinkies nail salon, not your racist rant against Spanish speaking people. Why dont you enroll in a language school if it bothers you so much...idiot! PS: English is the national language and from you poor grammar and sentence structure, it must be your second language as well.

Pinkies is a typcial salon and they do make you feel rushed.

I had a pedicure there today (my first with them) and I was very happy with the result. Laura was GREAT. Yes, it was cheap, yes, I was a walk-in, yet, I have no complaints. Yes, there was some conversation in a language I didn't understand - but, HELLO - we live in Miami and unless you speak Spanish (I don't), this happens everyday, although it probably doesn't affect YOU. Hmmm... maybe those of you that speak Spanish now know how it feels to be an outsider, even though this is AMERICA. You know, the great melting pot?? We gave YOU and your ancestors a chance, maybe it's time to return the favor. Yeah, guess what - Spanish is NOT the national language.

Pinkie's is just awful. The owner/manager is rude, the manicurists are hard working but so rushed they do a poor job. They always say "just five minutes" and then seat you in half an hour at best. There are plenty of nail salons in Miami that want and deserve your business, this place clearly doesn't.

The massage chairs are awesom to relax in while you get a pedi. I just don't like now they speak Vietnamese to eachother so clients don't understand. I think thats disrespectful towards clients.

I've been to pinkies and like every japanese , chinese or vietnamese nail place they are very rude and they do rushevery thing. Best place in my opinion is Skin Therapie Spain coral gables is not cheap but it's worth it!

I think that those Asian spas are awful for women who choose to have a pedicure/manicure. Yeah, it's cheap! But personaly, the treatment receive is unsatisfactory and often times, I found the staff very unfriendly. That's my opinion.

Avoid Pinkies. The women are incredibly rude and robotic (though I don't know why the previous commenter cared that they were speaking in Vietnamese). Go to Abaka right off of Le Jeune andUS1 for the best cheap one. And if you want to splurge, there is nowhere better than the Standard Hotel.

Pinkies is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. I've been twice and have had horrible experiences both times. The owner is rude and the staff speak in Vietnamese incessantly. The work is rushed and not very good. I would never go back again, unless I want them to ruin my day.
