If you duck into a local museum this weekend, chances are youll leave wondering where all the spectators went. The answer is the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, which transforms the quirky village on the bay into a winding outdoor gallery boasting the eye-catching works of 336 artists from 36 states and three countries. From this Saturday through Monday, this years roster of talent will showcase works in mixed media, painting, photography, digital art, printmaking and drawing, watercolor, clay, glass, fiber, jewelry and metalwork, and wood. Now in its 46th edition, this perennial favorite rivals Art Basel Miami Beach in popularity, drawing more than 150,000 people last year, being recognized as Sunshine Artist magazines Top Fine Art Event in the nation and receiving five awards from the International Festivals and Events Association.
The weekend arts bash continues to expand its Culinary Pavilion with presentations by award-winning chefs and corrals countless street vendors offering a wide array of epicurean treats. The fest also features a Kids Creative Corner for the sandbox set and live performances for the family to get its groove on.
