Every indie kid is always looking for the next best-kept secret on the brink of success (that is, another Bright Eyes or Interpol) so they can say they discovered it before the rest of the world. For the first time in a while, that band has been lurking on the streets of Miami and is returning to the live scene. Having released two EPs -- White Buildings and Dont Panic -- and recently licensed a song for a Nissan commercial, Marqui Adora will be playing tonight at Circa 28.
The band, led by local DJ Danny Ashe, composes music influenced by everything from U2 to the Cure. Circa regular Electric Porkchop, and Pawn Shop denizen DJ Diztruktif -- recently back from a gig as Lady Sovereigns official tour DJ -- will keep the party poppin. The show starts at midnight, and admission is free.
