The 20 Best Television Shows Returning in 2015
via YouTube

Can't keep track of when all your favorite shows return this year? You've come to the right place. Chances are now that the holiday season is over, and every station is done playing Home Alone 2 on a loop, your must watch show is nearing a return. Whether it be the pressing of play on a show that paused mid-season, or a fresh new lineup of episodes you've been anxiously awaiting on for what seems like forever; early 2015 is the time most small screen shows make their comeback.

From House of Cards, to Game of Thrones, the first three-months of this new year are chalk full of new TV. Here is when 20 of the most popular debut.

20. House of Cards (Netflix)

Upcoming Events

Finally, we have answers! Netflix recently announced Season 3 of it's mega-hit series House of Cards will be released Feb. 27th on their site, which means we are just a few short weeks away from totally detaching from society -- so plan accordingly. Kevin Spacey, who just picked up a Golden Globe for his performance in the series as Frank Underwood, is back in Season 3 to screw anyone that gets between him and whatever-the-hell-he-wants this time around.

House of Cards premiers on a Friday, so by that Monday, we should all be asking when Season 4 is coming out.

19. Veep (HBO)

Funny lady Julie Louis-Dreyfuss head one of the best ensemble casts on television. Season 4 premieres April 12

18. Portlandia (IFC)

Everyone's favorite hipsters return for another season. Season 5 premiered January 8.

17. Orphan Black (BBC America)

Season 3 premieres April 18.

16. American Horror Story (FX)

Season 4 (Freak Show) already returned it's super weird to your TV this past week, and the finale airs January 21. My recommendation with this show is to never catch-up on the episodes you DVR'd during dinner, because you never know what kind of twisted scenario might flash before your screen.

15. Mad Men (AMC)

Your torture is soon coming to an end. Part 2 of the seventh and final season is set to debut in the spring of next year, so you're not too far away from finding out exactly what life has in store for Don Draper and his ad agency pals. Spoiler Alert: whiskey and sex is in store. Probably. I think.

14. The Walking Dead (AMC)

Your favorite post-apocalyptic horror drama television series returns for the second part of season five February 8. In the new trailer it looks like the survivors have had just about enough of everyone's crap, as Rick Grimes and company seemingly take the offensive, possibly foreshadowing them taking back turf from the cannibal-crazies and hospital-nut-jobs they have encountered along the way.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say there will also be zombies, and they will almost bite people, before said people cave their heads in with the business end of a can of yams. Cure for the zombie infection was lost in the last season, so it will be interesting to see where the drama takes us as we creep towards an already approved season 6.

13. The Vampire Diaries (CW)

The teenage heartthrob wasteland returns midseason return January 22.

12. Silicon Valley (HBO)

Mike Judge's hit returns for it's second season April 12. The first eight episodes of this series were a tease, so it will be a welcome return to one of the wittiest and fun shows to air in 2014.

11. Orange Is The New Black (Netflix)

The ladies return for another season of the prison comedy, to be released in 2015

10. True Detective (HBO)

The highly anticipated second season of True Detective (with a new cast) premieres sometime in the summer of 2015, we aren't quite sure when yet -- but as soon as we find out, you'll be the first to know via a million times "Holy shit, yes!" tweets. This season an entire new cast takes the stage, including Vince Vaughn, Rachel McAdams, and Colin Farrell. The hype is epic with this show after a thrilling first season, and it will be interesting to see if the murder mystery dramas sophomore campaign lives up to the initial one.

What we know so far is McAdams and Farrell play the roles of the cops this time around, while Vaughn takes on the role of the embattled crime boss. I'm frickin' stoked, summer can not get here fast enough to see what this one has in store for us.

9. Justified (FX)

The sixth and final season of Justified premiers January 20.

8. Suits (USA)

Season 5 premiers Wednesday January 28.

7. Scandal (ABC)

Midseason return slated for January 29.

6. The Blacklist (NBC)

Midseason premiere, post-Super Bowl, February 1.

5. Last Week Tonight With John Oliver (HBO)

Debuting February 8, Season 2 of Last Week With John Oliver returns one of the best shows of 2014. Oliver is back to pilot the hit show that saw over four-million viewers weekly on HBO last fall. Word is the formula will be the exact same, and that's great news -- because this show is almost perfect as is.

You may be wondering why this season comes back so fast, nearly three months sooner this calendar year than last. Well that's because HBO has supersized Season 2, up to 35 episodes as opposed to the first season's 24. You the real MVP, HBO.

4. The Following (Fox)

Season 3 premier March 2.

3. The Amazing Race (CBS)

This show returns for its 26th season. Is there any place left to go? Premier February 25.

2. The Voice (NBC)

Season 8 premier February 23.

1. Game of Thrones (HBO)

Cult followers of HBO's fantasy drama Game of Thrones will have to wait until April 12 for the season five premier, but it promises to be worth the wait. It's rumored that the show's creators Dan Weiss and David Benioff have some surprises in store this season, possibly even a flashback or two that contain characters that, uh, haven't been on the show for awhile.

A lot happened at the close of season four, so I know you're chomping-at-the-bit to see where season five takes you. Sadly, it won't take you there until April.
