It's that time of year again: hurricane season, during which it often feels like the whole city of Miami shuts down for at least a couple hours, and sometimes a couple days, due to torrential downpours.

What's a bored South Floridian to do in the summer? Plenty. Last year, we rounded up ten great rainy day activities. And now we're adding another ten to the roster.

Here's how to stay entertained the next time the lightning strikes.

10. Kick It

Play out your World Cup fantasies rain or shine at Midtown Stadium Indoor Soccer, where pick-up games cost $10 per person.

9. Catch a Flick

It's never been a better time for independent films in Miami. Coral Gables Art Cinema, Cosford, Miami Beach Cinematheque, O Cinema's locations in Wynwood and in Miami Shores at Miami Theater Center, and Tower all boast stellar lineups of weird and award-winning movies.

8. Might as Well Jump

Reconsider your definition of "getting high" at SkyZone indoor trampoline park, where you can play dodgeball and take an aerobics class on the bouncy mats -- or just throw yourself into a giant pit of foam.

7. Get Cultured

Haven't been to PAMM yet? Shame on you; your taxpayer dollars funded it, after all. And that's just a starting off point when it comes to the arts in Miami. In fact, the Miami Art Museums Alliance has launched a passport program to reward arts enthusiasts for visiting the biggest museums in town.

6. Bet It on Black

Got money to burn? From bingo to blackjack machines, Miami casinos like Magic City and Hialeah Park will be more than happy to take it off your hands. Just remember: the house almost always wins.

5. Art Walk, Inside

Wynwood Art Walk is a drag when it's raining. But you can recreate the experience, minus the puddle-jumping, at Bakehouse Art Complex, home to dozens of artist studios. BAC often hosts special events like fundraisers, art classes, and even pancake parties. But even on the average day, many individual studios are open, and the halls are lined with the work of resident artists.

4. Go Play Your Video Games

Playing video games alone on your couch makes you, well, kind of a loser. Playing video games over drinks with friends is like beating the boss level of nightlife. At ARTcade, you can do just that: try to beat the high score on vintage arcade classics while swilling craft brews in the heart of South Beach.

3. Paint While You Booze

So you dream of becoming an artist, but you're too shy to reveal your skills? Painting With a Twist gives you the opportunity to throw some paint on a canvas over a glass or five of liquid courage. Show up for a regularly scheduled class, or gather friends and host your own private party.

2. Take Yourself Out To the Ball Game

Tickets are still dead cheap for entry into baseball's newest park, and the Marlins are actually semi-respectable this season. It's the only sport in town until football starts up, and hey, it's air conditioned.

1. Drink and Let Someone Else Drive

Bar-hopping in a tropical downpour? Lame. Bar-hopping with the help of the South Florida Brew Bus, which schleps beer drinkers between area breweries? Winning.
