Supper for Scholars

Gourmands are invited to pull up a chair at Johnson & Wales University’s posh dinner party, honoring Edgar Leal as a distinguished visiting chef and Richard DiGiacomo as a distinguished visiting sommelier. The public dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. at the university’s North Miami Campus.

“It’s a great time to meet wonderful chefs and fellow foodies,” says Jordan Fickess, Johnson & Wales University’s director of communications. Leal and DiGiacomo are the executive chef and sommelier at Cacao restaurant, renowned for its mouth-watering South American cuisine. The renowned chef and eager culinary students will prepare a four-course meal, and DiGiacomo will select wine pairings. You’ll be treated to gourmet hors d’oeuvre and an open cachaça (a popular Brazilian drink) and wine bar before the feast. The event is a scholarship fundraiser for the University’s College of Culinary Arts, and will also feature live Latin music by Alabao. Leal will also indulge guests with a cooking demonstration. Reservations are required.
