Sun Life Stadium will host soccer, the world’s game, this Saturday night. But Sunday, Caribbean soca will pump through the stadium and even along the streets of Miami Gardens. For the Miami Carnival in the Gardens festival, Broward and Miami-Dade come together to ogle a long procession of island beauties wearing skimpy, yet heavily bedazzled, outfits. The fest is the signature event of the Miami Broward One Carnival, which grows bigger every year. This time, there will be more than 20 masquerade bands and six steel bands blaring soca. And they all seem to come with a never-ending array of hip-thrusting, rump-rotating ladies whose colorful outfits can barely contain the junk in those trunks. Lucky for you, those behinds will be kept in an almost constant state of movement through the hypnotic, rhythmic sounds of soca. The music lineup includes Alison Hinds, Oungku & Red Hot Flames, Talpree, Benjai, Skinny Fabulous, and Iwer George. The parade begins at 11 a.m. at NW 26th Avenue and NW 199th Street, and ends at Sun Life Stadium.
